What To Bring To Camp Every Day

Send a bathing suit and towel on EVERY DAY if your camper plans on going in the pool.

NOTE: Sneakers and socks are an absolute must!. It promotes activity participation and helps with the health and safety of your campers\’ feet and entire bodies.

Sandals are not allowed.

Pioneer campers should have 1 change of clothes to leave at the camp.

What Not To Pack Any Day

NO CELL PHONES OR ANY OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVICES SHOULD BE USED AT CAMP, AND ANY PIONEERS, ADVENTURES OR STARS CAMPERS CANNOT EVER HAVE THEM OR USE THEM!

THEY DISTRACT FROM THE CAMPER\’S PARTICIPATION IN ACTIVITIES AND CAN BE USED FOR AN INVASION OF PRIVACY. PLEASE HELP US WITH THIS.   IF YOUR CAMPER NEEDS TO CONTACT YOU, WE WILL ALWAYS PROVIDE THEM WITH A WAY TO DO SO.

MILL BASIN DAY CAMP WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOST, DAMAGED, STOLEN OR INAPPROPRIATELY USED PHONE, ELECTRONIC DEVICE OR ANY UNALLOWED ITEM THAT IS BROUGHT TO CAMP.

Money At Camp

THERE IS A SMALL SNACK BAR LOCATED IN THE LOBBY.

PIONEER GROUPS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE ITEMS FROM THE SNACK BAR.   MILL BASIN DAY CAMP DOES NOT OWN THE SNACK BAR OR HAS ANY CONTROL OVER HOURS, PRODUCTS OR PRICES.

A STAFF MEMBER FROM EACH GROUP IS ASSIGNED TO TAKE A LIST OF ITEMS CAMPERS WISH TO PURCHASE, GOES TO THE SNACK BAR, PURCHASES IT AND BRINGS IT TO THE CAMPER ALONG WITH CHANGE IF ANY.

IF YOU ARE SENDING MONEY FOR SNACK BAR PURCHASES, FOR ADVENTURES AND STARS GROUPS, YOU PLACE THE MONEY IN AN ENVELOPE WITH YOUR CAMPER\’S NAME ON IT, THE AMOUNT THAT IS IN THE ENVELOPE. WE DO NOT HAVE A LIST OF ITEMS SINCE WE DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE SNACK BAR.

SENDING MONEY FOR THE SNACK BAR IS NOT REQUIRED

The menu is available above or on your MBDC App.
Lunch & Snacks are being provided to ALL campers.

Camper can also bring lunch and snacks with them on a daily basis if they wish. Outside food is not allowed to be delivered, so there will be no ordering from outside vendors.  If you are sending lunch, it should be non-perishable items that do not need to be heated. Lunch boxes will remain in the camper\’s bags until lunchtime.

Water Only will be served with lunch and snack.  You will receive an MBDC water bottle that you can fill with your campers\’ favorite beverage (we suggest water only so that it can be refilled at our water fountains).

NOTE: If your camper has food or any other allergy, please provide that information to us by emailing, calling and attending the Medical Night listed above.

Swimming/Swim Instruction/Suntan Lotion

Swimming is part of everyday activities for ALL campers.

Every camper will have a swimming evaluation test, INCLUDING CAMPERS IN TEEN QUEST CAMP.

After they have been evaluated prior to entering the pool, they will be given a colored bracelet designating their abilities and in what section they will be allowed to swim.

FLOTATION DEVICES OF ANY KIND ARE NOT ALLOWED! PLEASE DO NOT SEND THEM ALONG

They will be supervised by lifeguards and staff both in and out of the water.

Swim instruction will be provided to beginners only if they agree to take the swim test. Those who don’t will not be allowed to swim. Campers will only be swimming with campers their own age and swimming ability.  Apply suntan lotion at home!  We prefer not to apply it at camp and strongly suggest your camper wear or bring a swim shirt.  Send suntan lotion in your camper\’s bag if you wish.

Here is an example of a swim shirt: Swim Shirt For Campers

We also suggest you send them along with water shoes, Crocs, or flip-flops. Do not buy expensive ones and MARK EVERYTHING, INCLUDING TOWELS, WITH YOUR CAMPERS FULL NAME AND GROUP ASSIGNMENT!

Camp Activities

Every camper has an activity schedule for the entire summer. It is structured according to their age, gender, and individual camp division.  We schedule both indoor and outdoor activities and try to stagger them as much as possible.

All indoor facilities are climate-controlled.

All activities, including swimming, are about 50 minutes in length.

NOTE: SPECIAL EVENTS AND SHOWS AND BAD WEATHER DAYS SUCH AS RAIN WILL NECESSITATE CHANGING THE SCHEDULE FOR THE DAY.

All activities, including swimming, are modified when needed to account for the weather. Encourage your camper to participate in ALL the activities.  Don\’t worry if your camper isn\’t in the mood; we always have staff who can find something to do with them, but remember, they will always be with their groups at all times.
