All indoor facilities are climate controlled.
All activities including swimming are about 40 minutes in length.

Bad Weather: All activities including swimming are modified when needed to account for the weather.
Encourage your camper to participate in ALL the activities.  Don’t worry if your camper isn’t in the mood, we always have staff that can find something to do with them, but remember they will always be with their groups at all times.

Bus Service

READ BELOW IF YOU USE BUS SERVICE!

The bus company will shortly provide us with your bus number. As soon as we have them, you will be notified to log onto your account to check your number and/or any other information that might apply to you.

Here are our instructions from the bus service provider.

Please be ready for the first several days by 7:30 in the morning and 5:00 in the afternoon.  We know that many buses will arrive later but after the first few days, you will get a better idea of the times.  Please take into consideration your distance from the camp when considering the times to be ready.
Your pickup times will most likely be very different but this is done in order for you to get accurate times for pickup and drop off.  Please be patient as it may take longer than normal on the first days.  Please allow your camper to take the bus on the first day so that you can see what time it arrives and returns.
Please refer to your Silent Passenger GPS bus account to see where your bus is.

BE ADVISED THAT THERE WILL BE SOME CORNER STOPS ONLY IN SOME AREAS AND IF YOUR PICKUP AND DROP OFF LOCATION IS AT A CORNER, YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED.

Once a regular schedule is in place, please have your camper ready approximately 5 – 10 min prior to your scheduled pick up each day.  Once the bus arrives, it will wait about 2 minutes for a camper before departing.

Note: We are tracking the bus as well.  After the first few days of camp, when the bus arrives on time, it will only wait 2 minutes before departing and will not return to pick up a late camper.  NO EXCEPTIONS!

PATIENCE IS THE KEY!

PLEASE NOTE IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL DAYS FOR BUS SERVICE TO GET A CONSISTENT SCHEDULE IN PLACE, SO PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO ALLOW FOR EXTRA TIME DURING THIS SHORT ADJUSTMENT PERIOD.

In the evening drop off, please make sure to have someone waiting to receive your camper.  If no one is there to greet them, the bus will wait about 3 min before leaving for the next stop and your camper will have to remain on the bus for the duration of the run before being returned to the camp office where they will have to be picked up.

A Mill Basin Day Camp bus counselor(s) will be on each bus both in the morning pick up and evening drop off.  Please introduce yourself to them.  Their responsibilities include bus attendance, safety and decorum.  Please note that all Pre-School campers will be seat belted in.  Someone will need to hand your child off to the bus counselor and/or to receive your child off the bus each day.  A bus counselor cannot and will not leave the bus to escort campers across the street or into homes or buildings.  This is done to ensure the safety of the campers remaining on the bus.

If your camper does not need morning bus service on any particular day, it would help if you called the camp office as soon as you know your camper will not be attending.

If your child will not need bus service home on a particular day, you must call the camp office before 3:00 PM in order for your camper not to be placed on the bus.

Please have your child wear their Mill Basin Day Camp t-shirts on their first day.  Please attach their group assignment to them on a postcard (Pre-School, Adventures and Stars campers only).

If your camper has special requirements for bus transportation or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the camp office so we can pass the information on to the bus company.

Tracking Your BusAs a convenience to parents, you are now able to track the location of your campers pick up and drop off the bus.

GPS BUS TRACKING

In order to track the bus, you will need to download the App called “Silent Passenger” which is available for free download for desktop and mobile devices at the Itunes Store & Google Play. Below are the links:

Google Play: Silent Passenger

Itunes: Silent Passenger Iphone

Instructions on how to run Silent Passenger:

Once you download the program you will need to log in.

Your login will be as follows: MBDC_BUS_01@MILLBASINDAYCAMP.COM
(substitute your bus number when it becomes available on Friday afternoon June 28).
Your password will beMBDC6200 (all upper case)

Once you log in, you will be able to VIEW ONLY the location of your bus.  Please keep in mind that the actual vehicle number will be different than your bus run number.  When you log in, whatever bus you are seeing on your screen will be the one your camper is on.

Once you have that information, you’ll be able to see when the bus will arrive at your stop. Please allow yourself enough time to get to the pickup area both morning and evening.

VERY IMPORTANT!: This app and program are provided by a third-party provider.  MBDC does not control its function or change the way it works.  Should it be not working properly for some reason like the internet being down or program malfunction, we will have to wait for them to correct the issue.  The camp CANNOT correct it.

Calling the Camp Office
VERY IMPORTANT!  WE CANNOT SPEAK WITH ANYONE NOT GIVING THEIR NAME, RELATION TO A CAMPER AND REASON FOR CALLING!

When calling, make sure to us let you know who you are and the name of your camper(s).

Please note that the office staff are the ones who can help you in almost ALL cases. Camp directorial staff will not be coming to the phone during the day as they will be busy with camp programming. Calls that are to be returned will be done after the camp day has ended or as soon as it is possible to do so.

OFFICE HOURS: July 01 – August 23:  Monday – Friday 7:00 AM to 6:15 PM.

Parking at the Camp in the Evening
We urge you to park outside the lot especially in the afternoon, but if you do park in the lot do not arrive until 4:10 at the earliest.
