Letter From Jack Grosbard, Owner MBDC
As we draw closer to the first day of camp, I just want you to know what being part of the MBDC family means.
Summer camp is more than just a place for kids to be watched while their parents work or even simpler just a way to get them out of the house. Major university studies have shown that children who attend summer camp leave it with much more confidence in themselves, enthusiastic about trying new activities and most important, make friends that they keep for years to come.
Being part of the MBDC family means more than just coming to camp in the summer. It means that when your kids are in our care they will be in a safe, clean environment. They will not just be supervised, not just watched. They will be participating with their counselors who will interact with them, help and instruct them if needed and most of all be involved with them in the proper manner, with common sense, structure and caring. It means that your campers will come home each night to tell you how much fun they had doing all the things that MBDC has to offer and how they can't wait to see their counselors and friends the next day. It means that they''ll get so excited to tell you what they learned to do for the first time. You''ll watch their eyes glow with pride when they hand you a beautiful arts and crafts project they worked hard to make for you. I am always very proud of our staff. They truly enjoy what they do and the kids see it in their faces.
Our office is open all year round. We spend the year working on new things for the kids to do. MBDC families come by all the time to see what''s going on and just to say hello. We even have had family outings to places like Adventurers Park and Keyspan Park to a Cyclones game. For us, it really is not only about the 8 weeks of camp. It really is about the connection to the campers and families we get to know. |
